David Walz is a seasoned facility management professional and a recognized leader in maximizing energy efficiency in building operations. He has worked in various facility management and engineering operations roles for mechanical contractors, a property management company, medical centers, financial institutions, Fortune 500s and a major non-profit.
David’s accolades include many industry awards and recognition, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star building designations, EPA Waste Wise Region 5 Award, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Outstanding Building of the Year and 360 Building designations, multiple National Air Filtration (NAFA) Clean Air Awards for commercial buildings, Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) Sustainable Award.
He holds many professional certifications from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Building Owners and Managers Institute International (BOMI), NAFA, the EPA and Michigan State University. He has extensive experience in HVAC troubleshooting, retro- commissioning and cost analysis, and has earned several related licenses in the field.
David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wayne State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in HVACR Engineering Technology cum laude from Ferris State University, and a Master of Science degree from Central Michigan University.
