Farmington Hills, MI    Jim Newman, owner and managing partner of Newman Consulting Group, LLC (NCG) in Farmington Hills, Mich., was honored with the Engineering Society of Detroit’s (ESD) TechCentury Image Award at the organization's annual dinner on June 20. According to ESD, the award is presented annually “to individuals who have helped promote the engineering and technical professions through involvement in the community, mentoring, public service, public speaking, and presentations to various groups.”

Farmington Hills, MI.  During the Annual Meeting of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA) in Lansing, MI, on Dec 2^nd, Jim Newman, Managing Partner of Newman Consulting Group LLC (NCG), accepted GLREA’s 2017 “Exemplary Project Award.” NCG was commended for work on preserving The Whitney Restaurant using PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) to finance new building energy systems. The Exemplary Project Award, presented annually by the GLREA, recognizes the renewable energy or energy efficiency project that demonstrates the most innovative and practical use of technologies and methods for creating or conserving energy.

The Whitney, a National Historic Landmark and favorite restaurant for Detroiters for more than three decades, is taking significant steps toward leadership in energy efficiency while also enhancing the guest experience.  

Farmington Hills, MI  The Garfield Metro Building, a medical office building at 37555 Garfield Road, in Clinton Township, is the first commercial building in Macomb County to take advantage of new PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing that adds value to property through a direct increase in NOI (Net Operating Income). The PACE program, an innovative financing structure, makes it possible for owners of commercial, industrial, and other non-residential properties to obtain long-term financing at very favorable rates for energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy.
